Cozy Fall Recipes: Pumpkin Spice, Hearty Stews and Comfort Food
Fall is my favorite time to cook, and these are my favorite fall recipes. After enough Canadian winters, I have become a real fan of warm, cozy food: a pot of stew on the stove, something cheesy bubbling in the oven, and a pumpkin spice latte I made myself instead of lining up for one.
I will be honest, I was not a big pumpkin fan until the October I made pumpkin the theme of my whole month on YouTube. I had never even had pumpkin pie, let alone baked one. That month changed my mind, and my deep dish pumpkin pie came straight out of it.
So here is my fall lineup: the coffee shop drinks I make at home, the stews and soups I keep coming back to on cold nights, comfort food dinners, the sides that belong on a Thanksgiving table, and a few pumpkin and apple treats. Pick one for tonight and save the rest for the season.

How to Build a Cozy Fall Menu
Mix and match these based on your week. Here is how I would put them together:
- Busy weeknight: Creamy Butternut Squash Sausage Pasta or One-Pot Moroccan Chicken and Chickpea Stew.
- Slow Sunday supper: Hearty Pot Roast or Portuguese Beef Stew with Savory Sweet Mashed Potatoes on the side.
- Thanksgiving table: Cheesy Scalloped Potatoes, Deep Dish Pumpkin Pie and Mini Puff Pastry Apple Pies.
- Morning fix: Iced Pumpkin Spice Latte or a cup of Masala Chai.
If you make one of these, leave a star rating on the recipe. It helps other cooks find it, and I read every one.
