Red Velvet Chocolate Chip Pancakes with Cream Cheese Glaze

Hey everyone! I adore red velvet pancakes, so I'm super excited to share the recipe for these red velvet pancakes with a cream cheese glaze!

I love how cakey these are and of course the colour is tons of fun! My favourite way to have red velvet pancakes are with white chocolate chips for some extra sweetness, and I find that cocoa powder really adds that cakiness that makes the pancakes so fluffy. Additionally, I not only top my pancakes with a rich cream cheese glaze, but I love sandwiching these pancakes! Enjoy this royal treat for breakfast, no matter the occasion!

  1. Preheat the oven to 200 F. In a large mixing bowl, add the oat flour, egg, honey, baking powder, and the chocolate chips. Either begin whisking with your hands or turn on your stand mixer, and gradually pour in water until you get a thick but runny pancake batter. Add in the food colouring and add more to get the desired colour.
  2. Heat a pan to medium heat. Add a bit of butter and scoop out about 1/4 cup of pancake batter onto the pan. Cook for about a minute or two, until the pancakes start forming bubbles, then flip on the other side. One both sides are cooked, transfer the pancake onto a baking sheet and leave it warm in the oven. Repeat this step for the remaining batter.
  3. To make the glaze, add the cream cheese, milk and sugar in a mixing bowl and whisk vigorously until until the ingredients have combined well.
  4. When all the pancakes have cooked, place one pancake and spoon on a bit of glaze. Stack on another pancake and repeat until you've coated the top pancake. Add the chopped chocolate, serve hot and enjoy :)

For the pancakes

  • 5 OZ Cream Cheese
  • 3 T Powdered Sugar
  • 3/4 T Milk
  • 2 tsp chopped milk or dark chocolate, for garnish
  • 1 Large Egg
  • 160 G Rolled Oats
  • 2 t Baking Powder
  • 1 T Honey
  • 1 t Vanilla Essence
  • 2 t Butter or cooking spray, for cooking
  • 1 T Cocoa powder
  • 1 t Red food colouring (or more if needed)
  • 2 T White chocolate chips

For the toppings
