Easy Cheesy Skillet Taco Pasta

Hey everyone! This cheesy skillet taco pasta is so simple to prepare and tastes absolutely phenomenal, the perfect recipe for beginners! All you need are a couple of basic ingredients and a skillet, and this lovely dinner is ready in no time! It's so cheesy, gooey, and meaty.

  • 8 OZ Penne
  • 1 14-OZ Can diced tomatoes
  • 1 Small onion, diced
  • 2 Garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 t Olive oil

  1. Bring a pot of water up to a boil, and cook the pasta as per package directions, until it is al dente.
  2. Heat a pan on medium heat and add the olive oil. Add the garlic and onions and cook until the onions become slightly brown.
  3. Add the meat and with a wooden spoon, break down the meat into smaller pieces. Cook until the meat is no longer pink.
  4. Add the taco seasoning and half a cup of water. Stir well to get the caramelized bits off the pan, and cook for a few minutes to get out the rawness of the spice.
  5. Pour in the tomatoes and season with salt. Bring the mixture up to a simmer let the mixture cook until you start seeing oil releasing from the pan.
  6. Add in the drained pasta into the pot, mixing well. If you desire a thinner sauce, add some pasta water and bring the mixture back up to a gentle simmer.
  7. Once your sauce has reached the desired consistency, add in the cheese. Cover with a lid and let it cook for at least five minutes, without taking off the lid during this time. Garnish with fresh parsley, serve hot and enjoy :)
