Homemade Crispy Panko Chicken Nuggets

Chicken Nuggets are everyones favourites. This basic recipe will help make these deliciously crispy nuggets your own, be it dipped in BBQ Sauce, Hot Sauce or Maple Syrup! Plus, it is perfect to prepare in advance and freeze for those busy days at work. This recipe for extremely crispy baked chicken nuggets will surely be the key to cure all of your fast food cravings!

I don't know about you but I absolutely adore chicken nuggets at fast food places! They're such a fun treat! My sister and I also used to buy the frozen nuggets and enjoy those pretty much on a weekly basis. I've missed indulging in these treats so much, so I thought what better way to relive all of these childhood experiences than to make these at home? Oh my goodness, let me tell you that these are super duper crispy!

They're not difficult to make at all and make for awesome lunches! I love to serve these with cut up cucumbers and all sorts of sauces! You could also dip them in some good old ketchup! This recipe is super simple and you can easily make it whenever you've got a craving! Enjoy these awesome childhood treats and all of the nostalgia that will come with it!


  1. Preheat the oven to 450 F.
  2. Place the chicken in a Ziploc bag or between two sheets of plastic wrap and flatten it out to 1/4 inch thickness using a meat tenderizer. (Note: You can use a heavy pan or a rolling pin if you don't have a meat tenderizer.)
  3. Measure out each of flour, egg and breadcrumbs in 3 separate plates/containers.
  4. Season flour with salt, pepper and cayenne pepper. Season the breadcrumbs with thyme. Mix each well
  5. Dip each piece of chicken in flour, shake of excess, dip in egg and then into the breadcrumbs. Coat well and press lightly with your hands to make sure breadcrumbs are well coated
  6. Place the breaded chicken on a baking tray lined with a rack and bake for 9 minutes or until chicken is cooked. Flip the chicken and bake for three more minutes. Serve hot and enjoy!

  • 250 G Chicken Breast
  • 50 G All Purpose Flour
  • 1 Large Egg
  • 2/3 Cup Panko Breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 t Thyme
  • 1/2 t Cayenne Pepper
  • Dipping Sauce of Choice
  • salt and pepper to taste
