Chocolate Peanut Butter Overnight Oats

Overnight oats are what I consider to be the queen of all oatmeals. The taste, ease of preparation and texture is far superior to oatmeal made any other way. I would come out and say that it would also make for a delicious dinner if you are up for it. After all, all you need to do is mix a few ingredients together and nature, your ingredients and a chilled refrigerator takes over from there.

Anybody can make a delicious overnight oats based upon their favourite milk, fruits, sweetener or treats from your pantry. All you need is a basic, skeleton recipe to start out your canvas and let your imagination dictate the rest.  

For those who have been following me for a while, you all know how much I love indulging in chocolate. Therefore, these are my ideal overnight oats, lathered with cocoa powder, honey, maple syrup and touch of vanilla to do the trick.

  1. In a large bowl, mix in oats, milk, yogurt, honey, cinnamon, peanut butter, cocoa powder, vanilla and chia seeds. Use a whisk to combine well until it resembles a brownie batter
  2. Using a spatula, transfer to your serving bowl and cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate overnight*.
  3. When ready to eat, top with maple syrup and fresh blueberries.


*If you want a thicker oatmeal, use 1/2 Cup of milk.

**You may make overnight oats in advance and enjoy a ready made delicious breakfast up to 5 days in advance

  • 1/2 Cup Rolled oats
  • 2/3 Cup Milk*
  • 2 T Greek Yogurt
  • 1 T Creamy Peanut Butter
  • 1 T Honey
  • 1 t Cinnamon


Serves 1

  • 2 T Cocoa Powder
  • 1 t Vanilla Essence
  • 1 T Chia Seeds
  • 1/4 Cup Blueberries (defrosted if frozen)
  • Maple Syrup to serve
