Cheesy Pepperoni Pizza Bagels with a Quick Tomato Sauce

Hey everyone! This recipe is for cheesy pepperoni pizza bagels that can be paired with a quick homemade tomato sauce.

I think I'm going to be notorious now for my pizza cravings and so many of my recipes revolve around mini pizza substitutions since (unfortunately) we can't eat the real thing every day! I've recently been hooked on pizza bagels, and this has become my favourite combo. While you can use canned sauce, I like to go the extra mile and make my own to really feel like I'm having a mini pizza in the morning. Be sure to try this recipe and enjoy!


  1. If making fresh sauce, heat a saucepan on medium heat and add oil. Add garlic, chilli flakes and cook for 30 seconds. In the meanwhile, puree the tomatoes and then add to the saucepan. Season with salt and Italian seasoning and simmer until sauce is thickened. Stir occasionally.
  2. Evenly apply sauce on bagel, top with cheese and pepperoni. Line a sheet pan with aluminium foil and place bagel on the pan.
  3. Broil pizza bagels for 5-8 minutes or until cheese is light golden brown. Serve hot and enjoy!
  • 1 Bagel of choice (I recommend herb and cheese for this recipe!)
  • Cheese of choice (I recommend mozzarella)
  • Pepperoni
  • 3 T prepared tomato sauce OR the sauce below

For the sauce

  • 2 Tomatoes
  • 1 T olive oil
  • 1 Garlic clove
  • Pinch of crushed chilli flakes
  • 1/4 t Italian seasoning
  • salt to taste
