Spicy Linguine with Bacon and Marinara Cream Sauce

Hey everyone, are you looking for a spicy pasta dish that's quick to make? Then this is the recipe for you! While the sauce actually does some time to make, here I'm using leftover sauce to assemble this quick dish, so feel free to use the marinara sauce of your choice. This dish has lots of heat from the bacon and dried red chili but you also get some subtle sweetness from sugar snap peas. Enjoy this spicy dinner that's perfect for weeknights!

  • 3/4-1 cup marinara cream sauce of choice (the recipe I used is courtesy of The Essentials of Italian Cooking by Marcella Hazan)
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • 1 red chili
  • 2-3 slices of bacon
  • 1/2 cup sugar snap peas
  • 4 oz linguine
  • 1/4 cup parmesan cheese
  • Oil
  1. Boil water and cook the pasta as per package directions.
  2. While the pasta is cooking, cook the bacon according to package directions. Chop the cooked bacon into small pieces.
  3. Heat oil in a skillet and add in the garlic, sugar snap peas and chilli, cooking for about a minute. You can remove the seeds from the chilli in case you want to reduce the spiciness.
  4. Add in the sauce and bring to a simmer on medium heat until you get large bubbles. Then, add the parmesan cheese.
  5. Toss in the pasta and coat well.
  6. Transfer the pasta into a bowl or plate and sprinkle in the bacon and some additional cheese. Enjoy :)
