Spinach Turkey Burgers

Hey everyone, do you want an amazing recipe for the juiciest turkey burger? Then you've come to the right place! Due to the leanness of this meat, turkey burgers are known for being extremely dry, but they don't have to be that way! By adding spinach to the patty, you're going to retain all those amazing juices that add so much flavour. Be sure to pair this amazing burger with a side of spicy potato wedges, which I'll have the recipe posted soon! Have this at your next barbecue and they'll sure be a hit!


Makes 2 burgers

Ingredients
  • 250 g ground turkey
  • 2 cloves of minced garlic
  • 1 cup spinach cut into strips
  • 1/2 tsp pepper
  • 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper (or to taste)
  • Salt to taste
  • 2-3 tbsp olive oil 
  • 2-4 slices of cheese of choice (I'm using cheddar)
  • Additional toppings of choice, such as lettuce, mayonnaise, and 2-3 slices of tomatoes
Instructions

  1. Add the spinach and garlic to the ground turkey in addition to salt, pepper and cayenne pepper. Mix well and then form two large or four small patties with the mixture.
  2. Heat a pan on medium heat and add in the oil. Lay out your patties, making a dent in the centre. This will help ensure your patties stay flat as they cook.
  3. After about 5 minutes, flip the patties, cover the pan with a lid and let the meat cook through.
  4. After about 3-4 minutes, check your patties. Depending on their size, they should be cooked through. Lay them aside to rest and place thin slices of cheese over each patty.
  5. Toast your burger buns and assemble the burger lettuce, mayonnaise, tomatoes, and that lovely patty! Enjoy :)
